  • What’s with the Fruition Recruitment name and the logo?

The Fruition Recruitment name was derived from a love of the phrase when ideas ‘come to fruition’: which means the attainment of anything desired; for dreams to come true; representing accomplishment and efforts realised, or the ‘state of bearing fruit.’

In line with the ‘fruit’ of the name Fruition, the gold pear was chosen for the business logo as this symbol traditionally represents prosperity and good fortune.

Our geometric golden pear design also represents collaboration, the rolling Barrabool Hills and Moorabool Valley of our home, Geelong, which is also the area we specialise in servicing.

  • What services does Fruition Recruitment offer exactly?

Fruition Recruitment offers talent acquisition, executive search, talent advisory and recruitment consulting services to businesses exclusively in Geelong. We work on end-to-end permanent recruitment assignments, and executive search assignments across the corporate sector, or can support with some aspects of the recruitment process as standalone ‘pick-up-put-down’ services.

  • Is Fruition Recruitment an Employment Services Provider or affiliated with Jobs Victoria?

No, Fruition Recruitment is not a job network agency, not a staffing agency, we’re not an employment services provider or a community services organisation that assists job seekers, and we are not connected with Workforce Australia. We are a privately owned boutique recruitment firm (not government funded), consulting only to employers/ companies/ organisations. In this way, we don’t represent individuals looking for work and try to source them job opportunities, rather, we represent business vacancies and assist employers to fill those. Because of this, we do still have a candidate database and are happy to accept candidate registrations at any time, however, we do not ‘reverse market’ job seekers into potential employers, rather we leverage our candidate database each time we have a vacancy to fill.

  • What is the difference between a job seeker agency/ employment services provider and a firm like Fruition?

In Australia, there are distinct differences between a job seeker employment agency and a privately owned recruitment firm such as Fruition. Here’s an overview of each:

    1. Job Seeker Employment Agency: A job seeker employment agency, also known as a job placement agency or job services provider, primarily focuses on assisting individuals who are actively seeking employment. These agencies are often government-funded or contracted organisations that offer services to job seekers, usually at no cost to the individual.

Key features of job seeker employment agencies include:

    • Support Services: These agencies provide job seekers with a range of support services, including career counseling, resume writing, interview preparation, and skills assessment. They assist individuals in developing job search strategies and improving their employability.
    • Government Assistance: Job seeker employment agencies often work in partnership with government departments responsible for employment services, such as the Department of Jobs and Small Business in Australia. They help individuals access government initiatives, subsidies, and training programs designed to assist job seekers.
    • Targeted Job Placements: These agencies work to match job seekers with suitable employment opportunities based on their skills, qualifications, and preferences. They maintain relationships with employers and may have access to job vacancies not widely advertised.
    1. Privately Owned Recruitment Firm: A privately owned recruitment firm, also known as an executive search firm, is a private business that specialises in sourcing and placing candidates for various positions on behalf of employers. These firms typically operate on a commercial basis and earn revenue by charging fees to the employers who engage their services.

Key features of privately owned recruitment firms include:

    • Employer Focus: Unlike job seeker employment agencies, recruitment firms primarily serve the needs of employers. They work closely with companies to understand their hiring requirements, culture, and specific job vacancies. They then actively search and evaluate candidates who match the employers’ criteria.
    • Specialised Expertise: Recruitment firms often specialize in specific industries or job sectors, such as IT, finance, healthcare, or executive-level positions. They have in-depth knowledge of the industry and understand the specific skills and qualifications required for various roles.
    • Active Candidate Sourcing: These firms proactively source candidates through methods like advertising, networking, data mining and database searches. They may also maintain an extensive candidate pool or talent database to draw from when matching individuals with job opportunities.

It’s important to note that while job seeker employment agencies primarily focus on assisting individuals in finding employment, privately owned recruitment firms primarily serve the interests of employers by sourcing and placing candidates for job vacancies.

  • Can Fruition help me if I'm looking for a job or career change?

Not exactly. Fruition mainly works client-side with businesses, when they have vacancies that require specialised assistance to fill. Fruition is not a job network agency, or a staffing agency, we’re not an employment services provider or a community services organisation that assists job seekers, and we are not connected with Workforce Australia. We are a privately owned boutique recruitment firm (not government funded), consulting to employers/ companies/ organisations. In this way, we don’t represent individuals looking for work and are not able to source job opportunities on behalf of individuals, rather, we represent business vacancies and assist employers to fill those. Because of this, we do still have a candidate database and are happy to accept candidate registrations at any time, and we certainly pride ourselves on the level of support we provide to the candidates we work with when filling a vacancy, however, we only work with candidates when it relates to a vacancy we are filling at that time. We currently don’t have any spare capacity to support job seekers generally and unfortunately we’re not able to ‘reverse market’ job seekers into potential employers. We do however, encourage you to still register on our candidate database here, as we go to our candidate database first whenever a new vacancy comes in, and we do have some limited resources and tips for job seekers though, such as our free CV template, that you can access by dropping us a line to [email protected].

  • What areas do Fruition recruit in?

Fruition specialises in providing recruitment support exclusively to businesses located throughout Greater Geelong. We also only recruit permanent ongoing positions or fixed term assignments (we don’t do temporary or casual roles). Our methodology and process for recruitment is almost exactly the same, regardless of the type of position, but in the past, we have specialised in recruiting across industries such as: Information Technology, Office Support, Community Services, Marketing, Education, Government, Healthcare, Banking, Administration, Sales, Finance, Retail and Not-for-profit.

  • Can Fruition help me with my CV or Cover Letter or with Career Counselling?

Fruition used to offer services relating to CV, cover letter and key selection criteria writing as well as career counselling, however unfortunately, we don’t any longer. As a small operator, and with increased demand for our services in the recruitment arm of our business, there just aren’t enough hours in the day for us to work too broadly, so a consolidated focus on talent acquisition, executive search and talent advisory was implemented in 2022. Fruition does, however, have a free CV template for job seekers that they are welcome to (please contact us at [email protected] to request a copy), and we do pride ourselves on the level of support we give the applicants we work with, though we only tend to work with candidates in step with a specific vacancy we are looking to fill.

For Businesses

  • Why is Fruition Recruitment right for my business?

Fruition are a Geelong based boutique talent firm that specialises in the hiring vertical for Geelong businesses. Our unique, people-focused approach yields competitive advantage for our clients and rewarding careers for our candidates. We operate on a fixed fee structure (not a percentage) and support our clients with talent business advisory, executive search, end-to-end recruitment campaigns or aspects of the recruitment process as standalone services. We’re the first choice for companies who believe in the value of their people and with a reputation for providing industry leading results, we’re a business that clients love working with and candidates trust. Fruition helps Geelong businesses grow, we help Geelong businesses understand the hiring trends they operate within, and we help Geelong businesses to secure high quality talent.

  • What is actually included in Fruition's fees?

Rolled into the fees is all advertising across all job boards and extensively across social media, proactive sourcing, fielding enquiries, vetting candidates (including personally interviewing candidates before recommending to clients, and if recommending candidates, including notes from interview with the candidate on specific suitability), interviewing alongside clients in formal interviews as a soundboard, conducting references, offer choreography, counter offer and resignation support for the candidate, and a 12 week placement guarantee (or 6 months in the case of executive search placements).

  • What is different about Fruition's business model?

The Fruition business model was designed from the start to better facilitate a partnering approach to recruitment, talent sourcing and management processes. This business model removes the need for us to focus on transactional recruitment like the larger and more traditional recruiters. We are predominantly dedicated to identifying solutions, driving innovative strategies and building strong candidate networks to deliver valuable results within a cost effective, service and results orientated framework. We genuinely partner and create an effective tailored solution to fit the specific needs of our clients and deliver cost effective results that are measurable. Our business is highly flexible with the freedom to develop and implement fresh innovative recruitment solutions quickly and effectively adapt to changing economic conditions, client expectations and highly mobile candidate markets.

  • What roles do Fruition recruit?

Any permanent (including permanent part-time) roles from entry level to intermediate, senior and executive (including fixed term contracts). Fruition specialises in providing recruitment support exclusively to businesses located across Greater Geelong and our methodology and process for recruitment is almost exactly the same, regardless of the type of role. But in the past, we have specialised across industries such as: Information Technology, Office Support, Community Services, Marketing, Education, Government, Healthcare, Banking, Administration, Sales, Finance, Retail and Telecommunications.

  • What's Fruition's candidate care like?

Consistent general market feedback highlights that a significant percentage of candidates feel that they have been poorly managed during the job search and interviewing experience. The quality of Fruition’s candidate support is second to none — candidate details will always be kept confidential, Fruition lets candidates know how they can improve their CV and LinkedIn profile and we can even coach candidates through any pre-interview nerves. Fruition’s candidate care provides a consistent engagement with candidates where their career aspirations are explored, recorded and included in the talent mapping to role requirement process. Fruition are also actively involved in the on boarding process to help hiring managers successfully guide, manage and integrate new permanent employees into their business to ensure a successful placement.

  • How can Fruition get access to candidates a business can't?

Fruition are functional experts who have built extensive professional networks within specific candidate pools over decades. While our competitors rely on job boards, we are extremely well networked, engage with an active social media following (of approximately 20,000+), work with a buoyant candidate database of over 15,000+ registered candidates, and leverage sophisticated name generation tools and deep web mining to uncover candidates that are simply unavailable through more conventional means. We also attract over 2,000 unique visitors to our Fruition website per month and consciously restrict the number of companies we recruit for at any one time so that we can invest the proper and required commitment to proactively sourcing the very best talent without overcommitment.

  • What is Fruition's 'Talent Advisory' service offering?

Investments in talent are some of the most essential decisions a company makes, and directly impact future business success and value. Fruition’s talent advisory expertise is grounded in hands-on, practice-based talent management experience as a function of placing a high number and broad range of talent into leading companies. We develop close relationships with business leaders, independent board members, innovators, decision makers and sector experts and are often afforded unique access into the dynamics and cultures that make effective workplaces tick. We leverage all of that experience, knowledge and insight to assess your current talent strategy and help you drive your business performance by understanding your challenges and delivering the deep competitive intelligence on relevant markets and business landscapes required to help you implement bespoke solutions

  • Is Fruition Geelong recruitment support?

We are based in Geelong, and not only are we very well networked with both employers and professionals across the Greater Geelong region, but we exclusively support the Greater Geelong area. We know Geelong talent, Geelong employment trends, Geelong remunerations, Geelong businesses, Geelong growth areas, and Geelong people.

  • What does ‘segmented' or 'unbundled' recruitment support mean?

We understand clients may only wish to engage Fruition Recruitment support during certain parts of the recruitment process. Segmented recruitment, or ‘unbundled’ recruitment, is a Fruition Recruitment service by which a client may elect any aspect of the recruitment process as a standalone service.

For example, business owners Fruition Recruitment have worked with in the past have only asked for a recruitment advertisement to be written. Others have asked Fruition Recruitment to only support them by participating on the interview ‘panel’, asking the HR behavioural questions to shortlisted candidates and being able to provide real time feedback and advice after each candidate interviews. Other clients have asked Fruition Recruitment to shortlist an advertisement response in a skills matrix against the key selection criteria, to solely manage the offer process, or conduct references, or provide skills testing, or any combination of the above and more. Fruition Recruitment charge on a ‘Recruitment’ fee basis for these standalone services, and the investment required is established upfront once an understanding of the requirements has been assessed.

  • What is the 'Recruitment Consulting' service Fruition offers?

Fruition can support clients with a full end-to-end recruitment process for a set fee, or clients can simply select any aspect(s) of a recruitment campaign they would like assistance with, and we will just charge on a consultation basis. Only need an advertisement written? Just need some help shortlisting or screening? Only require a support when you interview candidates? Want an unbiased third party to negotiate the offer process? Fruition are experts at every stage.

  • How has Fruition adapted to the current COVID-19 climate?

COVID-19 social distancing restrictions have fundamentally changed the way we work, live and interact with one another. The pandemic has also transformed how we plan and conduct recruitment activities and has made it necessary to implement more large-scale virtual recruiting and interviewing efforts in order to remain competitive and ultimately secure talent. Similarly adjusting to changing times are those incumbents now sought by organisations who will also need to embrace a new set of skills, and a fresh approach as well. Qualities such as adaptability, creativity, leadership, emotional intelligence and tech-literacy will be highly sought after.

Having remotely-recruited many roles throughout 2020, 2021, 2022 and now 2023, Fruition are very familiar with the struggles of creating a cohesive interview experience but also know how to generate a successful remote candidate interviewing process, and how important this is. It can be hard to near impossible to assess for cultural fit via a computer screen for those unaccustomed, especially when you are used to looking for nuances in face-to-face interactions. Organisations that will win the war for talent in this new remote, distributed workforce era are already looking at ways to excel at virtual recruiting, or at ways to partner with those who can. While it’s a bit harder to make a personal connection when interviewing remotely, Fruition find putting in the extra effort can be the difference between an average conversation and uncovering top talent.

For Candidates

  • How can I register my details with Fruition Recruitment?`

You can register your details at the link here where you’ll be asked to fill in some basic details and attach a copy of your CV.

  • I have been put forward for a job vacancy with Fruition and want to apply for another job vacancy through Fruition, is this possible?

You can apply and be put forward for as many roles as we consider you suitable for. If you get an offer from more than one client, then the decision will be yours as to which one you accept.

  • What are the benefits of registering with Fruition?

Fruition is a highly reputable recruitment firm, with extensive expertise and a focus on exclusively supporting Geelong employers. We have in-depth market knowledge and fantastic network relations meaning we will be aware of many vacancies that both are and are not advertised, providing more opportunities for you. We also manage your application and will liaise with the client on your behalf. Fruition can also give CV feedback, interview advice and negotiate salaries at offer stage.

  • I have sent a copy of my CV to Fruition and I can see vacancies on your website that I think I am suitable for. Why haven't I been contacted?

This could be for any number of reasons. Generally speaking, as engaging with Fruition is an investment from the businesses with which we work, the roles we represent may come with a list of non-negotiable prerequisites, which can be seen as justifying that investment, so its not uncommon for us to have niche or difficult to fill roles on, or senior or executive positions with particular requirements. Other reasons could, for example be that sometimes clients are specific about industry sector experience. It could also be based on the information we hold on you, whether current or outdated, or where we don’t think that you would be interested in the role. If in doubt then please do get in touch with us and we can double check. Rest assured if Fruition can put you forward for a position, its mutually beneficial for us to do so!

  • I am seeking a career change, can Fruition assist?

Generally speaking, as engaging with Fruition is an investment from the businesses with which we work, the roles we represent may come with a list of non-negotiable prerequisites, which can be seen as justifying that investment, so its not uncommon for us to have niche or difficult to fill roles on, or senior or executive positions with particular requirements. If you’re seeking a career change and/ or to leverage your transferable skills rather than current skills, we might not have many vacancies to offer you, as employers often view these roles as requiring support to get up to speed, and as you wouldn’t be able to ‘hit the ground running’ in a new industry or position, employers don’t often seek the support of recruitment firms to assist.

  • I am wanting some part time or casual work, can Fruition help here?

Fruition only works on permanent full time, part time, or fixed term contracts. We do not operate in the temporary, labour hire, or casual markets.

  • What roles does Fruition recruit?

Any permanent (including permanent part-time) roles from entry level to intermediate, senior and executive (including fixed term contracts). Fruition specialises in providing recruitment support exclusively to businesses located across Greater Geelong and our methodology and process for recruitment is almost exactly the same, regardless of the type of role. But in the past, we have specialised across industries such as: Information Technology, Office Support, Community Services, Marketing, Education, Government, Healthcare, Banking, Administration, Sales, Finance, Retail and Telecommunications.

  • Does Fruition work on job opportunities that are fully remote, work from home, hybrid working from home, or on roles with flexibility regarding location?

Fruition represents full time, or fixed term opportunities, that are based in Geelong and these can include fully remote, work from home, hybrid working from home or roles offering location flexibility However, it should be noted that Geelong employers are, by and large, currently trending in favour of returning to the office full time, or with no more than 1 day per week working from home. Additionally, regarding fully remote vacancies in particular, these positions tend to be highly sought after, with no geographical boundaries, and as such often receive large numbers of applications, and as Fruition is a fee for service business, its unlikely that employers would seek to make the investment to engage Fruition’s support to recruit a fully remote role on their behalf.
