About the Opportunity:
This is your chance to work with subject matter experts who like to work hard/ play hard and continue to set the bar in the digital marketing scene. You’ll be creating WordPress themes from provided designs in elegant HTML, PHP, Javascript and SASS. You’ll take ownership over various tasks involved in the web development life cycle from start to finish, including project planning, input on design rounds, development site and version control setup, quality control and website launches. You’ll also provide website support to clients of the hosting and WordPress platforms via phone requests and email tickets. Identifying and remedying bugs and ensuring best practice with regard to design, usability, accessibility and web standards, you’ll ensure that emerging standards, web trends and techniques are fully explored in improving projects to clients. You’ll also work collaboratively with design, copywriting, marketing and SEO team members to find solutions for client projects, and directly communicate with clients and stakeholders across the full project lifecycle and beyond.
About You:
A creative problem solver who can work in tune with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain client websites and web tools, you are skilled in developing WordPress websites efficiently and effectively. Strong with HTML, CSS/ SCSS and JavaScript, you love to tinker with action hooks, plugins and integrations and are proficient with PHP/ MYSQL. With proven experience in a similar agency role, you can confidently liaise with clients and stakeholders, gather requirements and provide helpful advice and insights throughout the development process. The ability to think laterally, problem-solve, ask the right questions and be willing to offer well thought-through strategies should all be part of your DNA. Able to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets, you’re an excellent communicator and collaborator and can think on your feet while remaining focused. You also pride yourself on your organisational skills, you come to meetings prepared, you respect others’ time, you take initiative, you’re punctual, and you can priotitise your own work on a day-to-day basis. Experience with Understrap (a Bootstrap starter theme) for development would be highly regarded, as would SEO knowledge, design skills, experience with the plugin Advanced Custom Fields and project management experience.
