Our client is a leading professional services firm based in Geelong, renowned for doing their best for their clients, their people and their community. They offer an outstanding work environment, relaxed working culture and a range of benefits with an emphasis on work/ life balance.
Due to strong and consistent client growth, a position has now become available to join the self managed superannuation fund (SMSF) team an SMSF Accountant. In this multifaceted role, you’ll be a key team member responsible for the delivery of both accounting and audit services to SMSF clients. You’ll prepare SMSF financial statements and tax returns in BGL360 and liaise with external fund auditors to ensure compliance, and will conduct external SMSF audits in Evolv, dealing with external accounting firms to manage each SMSF’s compliance. Reviewing and assessing the accuracy of financial reporting, disclosures, and compliance with accounting principles, you’ll identify discrepancies, irregularities, or areas requiring further investigation. You’ll also provide technical guidance to resolve complex accounting and auditing issues by staying up to date with accounting standards, regulation and industry trends. Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues, you’ll develop your technical and professional skills within a supportive team environment.
Benefits On Offer:
This is a remarkable opportunity for professional growth, where you’ll enjoy a 9 day fortnight, a flexible working environment (and the ability to work from home up to 2 days per week post probationary period) and competitive remuneration commensurate with experience. You’ll be supported to complete a wide range of professional and personal training and development throughout your career to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge you need to further your future, with achievable promotion opportunities. You’ll also enjoy parking onsite, a central location, team lunches, and an active social club.
This working environment is one of the best out there. Collaborative, supportive, friendly, trusting and engaging. On one hand the environment is relaxed, casual, down to earth and fun, but on the other, business activity is fast paced and agile with an accompanying growth mindset. Here you’ll find loads of well humoured office banter and celebrating success. Everyone is respectful and well intentioned, and there is a genuine focus on internal promotion and continuous learning where self improvement and development is both encouraged and celebrated.
Ideally with at least some SMSF or audit experience, you’ll be undertaking or working towards CA or CPA, hold relevant tertiary qualifications and would like to continue to learn and grow your career with a firm long term. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you’ll be a team player, self motivated and highly organised with strong attention to detail. Committed, result driven and with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, you’ll be able to work to deadlines, and with an analytical and enquiring mind, you’ll appreciate continuous learning and development. Genuinely enjoying working in the SMSF space, you’ll also be able to navigate audit software, data analytics tools and financial modelling, and use common accounting software (such as Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks).
