Our client is a large and established organisation in the Geelong CBD and due to business growth, a rewarding opportunity now exists for a seasoned Senior Communications Project Officer to create and implement communications strategies and plans, drive change management and join the team on a full time basis. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of success in communications roles, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
About the Opportunity:
In this busy and varied role, you will undertake stakeholder analysis and develop the stakeholder engagement strategy and plan for the project, develop the project communications plan in consultation with project team members and key stakeholders from related projects and draft project communications artefacts. Liaising with relevant stakeholders to define the appropriate communication channels for distribution of key messages, you will drive/ support broader change management activities as part of the overarching program of work which may include impacts assessment and assisting with change management plans. Participating in stakeholder engagement forums and collaborative activities in the delivery of key project outcomes, you will evaluate the effectiveness of communication plans, gain customer feedback and adjust communication tools, messages and audiences based on this information. You’ll provide input and maintain and prepare relevant communication materials, media releases, media responses, social media, databases, general correspondence and briefing notes and also support and assist with the review and development of online portal pages as required.
A real people person, you thrive on responsibility and have experience in organisational communication, typically as part of organisational change projects, preferably in large organisations. You can engage productively with relevant internal stakeholders in building communication plans for various distribution channels, and can conduct stakeholder analyses and develop stakeholder engagement plans that drive communication and change solutions. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you ideally have experience and capability in change management and will have kowledge of digital communication marketing strategies, tools and tactics. Your excellent critical thinking skills will underpin your ability to exercise good judgement and solve problems quickly and effectively and you’ll have high-level interpersonal and professional communication skills to work effectively with individuals and teams of staff with different levels of technical knowledge.
