About the Opportunity:
This role will see you take responsibility for providing support to partners in the delivery of client service, developing strong internal and external networks, coaching and training junior team members and managing client relations on a day to day basis. While this role centers around managing a team (and the responsibilities associated), you’ll also play a pivotal role leading internal projects, providing technical advice and managing both new and existing relationships. With involvement in the strategic functions of the firm’s development and contribution to the development of firm policies and procedures, you’ll perform a management role regarding productivity of team members, workflow coordination, client profitability, fee quotation, budget preparation and staff scheduling. You’ll create continued professional fee growth, assist the partners to service clients and apply the management and application of accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Proactively seeking opportunities for business development through value adding services, you will also act as a point of contact within the firm for the client together with the partner(s). This will include responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests and needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided and maintaining regular contact with clients.
You have proven experience working in a public practice tax and professional services accounting firm and will have supervised or managed other accountants in the past. As a natural people person with strong stakeholder management skills, you will be able to position yourself as a trusted advisor to your clients. Having had significant experience in tax consulting and business advisory, you have thorough knowledge of accounting and tax principles and excellent commercial, business and financial acumen. You have effective leadership and management skills, excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and strong analytical and problem solving skills. With the ability and confidence to present internal technical training sessions, you’ll also be complemented by a Bachelors Degree and CA/ CPA qualifications. With a personality that enables the building of rapport with clients and team members, you’ll contribute to the excellent internal culture within the firm, and as a strong people manager, you’ll also be able to manage the workflow for a team, be able to prioritise, delegate and review work for a team and be responsible the career development of team members.
