As a result of increasing demand for their services, an exciting full time opportunity now exists for an experienced Level 1 Systems Engineer to join the team.

About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Service Desk Manager, you’ll provide a single point of contact for first level escalations to end-users, respond to requests for technical assistance, escalate incidents and requests relating to the client to the appropriate vendors, and provide support to clients relating to issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems. You’ll troubleshoot and diagnose problems and advise on appropriate actions, delivering solutions across a variety of technical issues at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls and security. You’ll monitor systems performance and ensure software, hardware and servers run smoothly and follow standard service desk procedures, logging all service desk interactions and redirecting or escalating problems when required, to correct resources. You’ll track and route problems, resolving and mitigating as necessary and you’ll maintain policy and procedural documents, keeping accurate records of tasks being performed. Also providing technical support to backup and disaster recovery solutions, you’ll reduce the volume of incidents by identifying and eliminating root cause through proactive problem management processes and communicate extensively with clients and customers and manage expectations effectively.

About You:
With some experience in a similar role, ideally with a managed services provider or similar, you’ll have knowledge and experience maintaining Windows based environments, including Active Directory, and previous experience maintaining and troubleshooting cloud services such as AWS, Azure And O365. Familiar with ticketing systems and prioritising your workload, you have problem solving and troubleshooting skills and excellent communication skills. You’ll also have experience with routing, firewalls, switches and backup and recovery systems, and troubleshooting LAN/ WAN connectivity issues. Friendly, approachable and customer oriented, you can effectively prioritise, focus and work issues through to completion and you enjoy continuous learning and development, and progressing your technical knowledge and career. You can also think on your feet and work with a sense of urgency but remain calm during peak or stressful periods. Ideally complemented by tertiary qualifications (degree or diploma), having already achieved or studying towards relevant industry accreditations (Microsoft, Cisco etc) would be highly regarded but not essential.
