Fruition is excited to be exclusively partnering with one of Geelong’s leading technology groups who are now seeking a Level 2/3 IT Support Engineer (Helpdesk) with managed services experience across a range of technologies to support their growing client base.
About the Opportunity:
In this role, you’ll serve as the backbone of the company and will act as an escalation point from first level response to fix a wide range of IT problems and field more complex IT related enquiries. You’ll resolve challenging issues directly from clients and will provide both on site and remote support to clients across an assigned territory including scheduled maintenance visits and project implementation as required. You will also perform major client infrastructure projects and upgrades, and be responsible for infrastructure maintenance, and will perform advanced diagnostics across Windows servers and services including Active Directory, Exchange, DFS, SQL, Citrix, RDS and application services. Establishing effective working relationships with clients and becoming a trusted advisor to their business on any IT related activities, you’ll install sophisticated hardware, applications, cables and other peripherals on site and resolve complex issues with backups. You will also document tips, tricks and procedures internally, log all time spent in the ticketing system and provide IT guidance and recommendations to clients around business needs.
Ideally with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, you will have advanced troubleshooting experience, and experience in a Microsoft environment (certifications such as MSCA, MCP, CCNA would be highly regarded). You’ll have excellent OS and applications diagnostic experience in a domain environment, experience in Microsoft Windows Server 2003/ 2008/ 2012 and above, experience in Exchange 2003/ 2007/ 2010 and above, experience in MS Windows SBS2003/ 2008/ 2011 and above, experience with Dell and HP server hardware and have an ability to fault find and fix server and PC software and hardware issues. With a demonstrated problem solving ability, you’ll have knowledge of the Windows desktop OS, XP through to 8, have basic knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory and basic knowledge of Networking, IP addressing and routing. You’ll use initiative in your work, have outstanding customer service and communications skills and be able to work well under pressure. With a high level of independent judgement within established procedures, you’ll also have experience in an environment using tickets to resolve issues and recording work in timesheets.
