About our Client:
Our client is a leading retailer with a number of locations across Victoria, and they know their people, their offering and their customers are their defining point of difference. The next couple of years is gearing up to be incredibly exciting as they embark on some new IT projects that will see them significantly investing in their team, the customer journey and technology. In line with this, and with an enviable internal culture, supportive management and a bright future, they now require a skilled Retail IT Project Manager to join the team and to be based predominantly from their office in Geelong.
About the Opportunity:
With a multi-year technology transformation having been recently completed, the foundation has now been laid for further investment in retail technology programs that can scale across the entire network. Initially available on a 12 month fixed term basis (with a view to permanent), the Retail IT Project Manager will work across multiple teams and engage key stakeholders to deliver projects and continuous improvement initiatives that will realise benefits for the business. A hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, the body of work will range from business only to technology only and everything in between, so the successful incumbent will have both retail and technology domain experience. Initiatives will include service delivery harmonisation, self service checkout and optimisation of business processes (auto-order and invoice management). Simultaneously managing multiple project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes and milestones, you’ll lead the change requirements, and provide leadership and guidance.
With proven experience as a business/ project/ optimisation/ transformation change lead, you’ll have significant experience in a similar role and strong knowledge of solution architecture of retail POS systems, middleware, reporting and finance applications. Skilled at capturing business and functional requirements and transferring knowledge back into the business and IT, you’ll effectively bridge any gaps between the business, IT and vendors. Versed in the infrastructure and non-functional requirements associated with the solution architecture, you’ll also be across change management principles, methodologies and tools. With experience in the development and management of project controls including schedules, risks and issues, budgets, reporting, communication/ status reporting and change request management, you’ll have experience leading technology transformation activities, preferably within the retail (or related) industry and will be knowledgeable in common business practices associated with a retail environment (category, sales, IT, facilities, logistics, finance). Adept in project management approaches, tools and phases of a project lifecycle, you’ll have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal and be able to establish and maintain strong relationships, including being able to influence others and bring teams together towards a common goal. PMBOK certification (or similar) is desired, and any experience with GaP Systems Retail POS Solution, exposure or usage of MS Navision or with Power BI would be highly regarded.
About the Perks:
In this role, you’ll join a supportive and collaborative team of like-minded, brilliant and sharp innovators, enjoy flexible working conditions (allowing some work from home) and receive competitive remuneration. With a high level of autonomy and responsibility, your opinion will be sought, you’ll have a seat at the table, and variety is assured!
