About our Client:
Our client is an established and busy motor vehicle retailer, carrying select ranges of stock and specialising in parts, servicing and maintenance. They own and operate two stores, one in Geelong and the other in north-west Victoria, but due to their impressive OEN parts finder, they supply customers all throughout Australia. Their people are highly skilled and knowledgeable and offer expert advice to customers. Driven by passion, this family owned business is growing and now seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Administrator to the team on a full time basis (or part time for the right person, if desired).

About the Opportunity:
Based at the Geelong store, and working alongside the external accountants/ auditors, you’ll be an all-rounder responsible for the provision of general accounting duties (bookkeeping) and financial support, including analysis and preparation of reporting information. You’ll manage the day-to-day financial function within the business, including checking, matching and processing accounts payable invoices, reconciling supplier statements and ensuring all suppliers are paid according to credit terms. You’ll perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting tasks, balancing, reconciliations, payments and BAS, and prepare and report on financials. In addition, you’ll process credit card reconciliations, eBay and PayPal reconciliations and manage cashflow. You’ll prepare and process the fortnightly payroll including payroll tax, employee entitlement accruals and superannuation, and you’ll also perform general administration tasks such as data entry, filing, mailing out statements, banking, and other associated tasks required in line with the business operating as an LMCT. You’ll liaise with banking institutions, finance companies, training institutions (for apprentices within the business), suppliers, internal sales and mechanics, and the Directors of the business. This is an autonomous role where you’ll be working independently, in a generous light filled office space above the busy retail premises. It’s a broad and unique role with the opportunity to grow with the business, and a role where you can put the radio on and manage and structure your own day-to-day.

About You:
A proficient Microsoft Office user (with particular strengths in Excel) and ideally with previous experience using QuickBooks, you’ll have solid bookkeeping experience and proven experience in a similar role. With an understanding of legislative requirements relating to tax, superannuation, BAS and related matters, you’re commercially minded, have effective time management and organisational skills, are able to meet deadlines and proficient in all aspects of accounts and payroll, including EOFY reconciliations. Action oriented, you’re a problem solver, and can juggle competing priorities effectively. You’ll have exceptional organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and an ability to work methodically and thoroughly. You’ll also have excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills, be flexible, reliable, and be comfortable working on a variety of tasks in a sometimes fast-paced environment. You’ll also be self motivated, confident and highly organised as you’ll be working without supervision and autonomously. Qualifications or certifications in finance or bookkeeping would be highly regarded.

About the Perks:
This business is an energising place to work full of down to earth, passionate people, where they also place great importance on providing excellent customer service and are going from strength to strength. Part time hours could be considered for the right applicant, if desired, otherwise the role is currently structured as full time, 38 hours per week between 8:30am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday (no weekend work). Competitive remuneration is on offer as well as onsite parking.
