The Job:
Playing a pivotal role in coaching people managers on the informal process for all employee related matters and providing guidance and support to staff on queries that cannot be answered by a people manager, the People Advisory team or by HR Shared Services, the Employee Relations Adviser will have the opportunity to work closely with the Employee Relations Senior Managers and Managers on more complex ER cases and change projects such as redundancy and restructure. You’ll take ownership for employee relations cases which are received into the team, either via internal systems or from direct telephone queries and be responsible for providing advice to, and coaching of, people managers on how to reach fair and informal and formal resolutions to potential conflict situations to prevent escalation into employee relations cases.

Skills Required:
With experience in a similar role, in an operational HR role, you’ll be skilled in providing technical expertise in disciplinary matters, capabilities grievances, appeals, absence management and restructure and change programmes. You’ll also have knowledge of employment law and best practice and previous experience using case management systems. With a commitment to quality and attention to detail, you’ll also  have strong written and verbal skills and be able to build and establish rapport with others quickly. You’ll also need good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages.
