Employer Bio:
This dynamic mid-sized Geelong-based organisation has regional roots and national reach. With a values-led executive and a professionalised board, the business is sharpening its commercial focus in line with growth and evolving sector demands. While still grounded in service delivery, it is increasingly seeking the kind of strategic and financial discipline that supports long-term sustainability and scale.
Operating in an essential services-adjacent space, the organisation is well regarded in its niche and is now stepping into its next chapter. The focus is on streamlining operations, refining revenue models, and linking commercial levers more closely to organisational strategy.
The Job:
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the executive team, this executive appointment is focused on leading commercial strategy, enhancing decision-making frameworks, and providing critical oversight across planning, pricing, budgeting, and partnerships.
The remit includes financial modelling, commercial analysis, and strategic scenario planning, with broader influence across operational decision-making, structure, and investment planning. From refining commercial levers and pricing models to enabling scalable systems and contributing to long-range forecasting, this role offers both strategic input and practical delivery.
Experience across finance, corporate strategy, transformation, or commercial leadership could all be relevant. The common requirement is commercial acumen, strategic clarity, and an ability to move fluidly between detail and direction.
Benefits On Offer:
A senior executive salary package is available, aligned to experience, within a hybrid working environment that supports autonomy and impact. The executive team values clear thinking, honest dialogue, and meaningful contribution.
Culture Snapshot:
This is a business that is thoughtful rather than slow, and dynamic rather than chaotic. With alignment at board level and genuine appetite for commercial maturity, the environment suits those who want to shape the future, not just deliver within existing parameters. Bureaucracy is minimal and decisions are made by people who are invested in long-term success.
Skills Required:
Expertise across commercial insight, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and analytical problem solving is essential. Experience influencing CEOs, boards, or executive teams is highly regarded. CPA or CA qualifications are welcome, but not essential. Strong commercial capability, credibility, and decision-making discipline will be key.
