About our Client:
Our client is a successful, busy and growing business with a focus on clean, wholesome food and produce that is ethically and locally sourced. While they’re a small, passionate team who are focused on meeting customer and business needs, due to persistent demand, they currently have an opportunity for an energetic Chef/ Cook with solid skills and food knowledge to start immediately. Offering friendly service and premium product through a network of successful cafes, there is a high focus on quality and service, but also in having fun with this group.

About the Opportunity:
Working behind the scenes, your contribution to the team will be vital to the successful operation of the kitchen. The role is full time and offering set hours, 10:00am – 6:00pm across 5 days per week (including weekends) with no split shifts. Your duties will include food preparation including weighing and measuring ingredients, food assembly, cooking food, making everything down to mayonnaise from scratch, and stock management duties including stock takes and recording wastage. You’ll also accept food deliveries, check stock, perform cleaning duties within the kitchen area to ensure the kitchen is well presented and cleaned at all times and practice compliant food health and safety through safe storage. This is an energetic kitchen team that prides itself on efficiency, working collectively and in preparing quality food. Its a fast paced kitchen environment where you’ll be expected to demonstrate initiative, confidence and skill.

About You:
Either just starting out as a Cook, or coming down the mountain as a Chef, you’ll have experience working in a busy kitchen environment and have fantastic communication skills. Capable and happy to pivot and juggle when the pressure’s on, or things are busy, you’ll be able to think on your feet and get things done. Confident in your abilities, positive and upbeat, you’ll be able to have fun but work hard at the same time. You’ll have a strong attention to detail, a good attitude, and as the role involves lifting and carrying kitchen items and commercial quantities of stock, you’ll be physically fit. Friendly, punctual and reliable, you’ll have a strong work ethic, have good time management skills and be able to multitask. Commercial Cookery trade qualifications are preferred.
