About the Opportunity:
Providing commercial support to a market segment or number of nominated accounts and with a focus on strategy execution and delivery, you will be responsible for all commercial activities in that area and assist in the decision making process on customer transactions (new and ongoing). You’ll deliver high profile and complex consulting projects, engage senior stakeholders and foster strong client relationships. You will be part of a large and diverse legal, commercial and compliance team that enables the business to provide the IT frameworks and digital solutions for the largest names in Australia and you’ll structure and negotiate new business deals to the best commercial advantage. You will draft contractual terms and contracts, monitor and ensure the successful delivery of business in accordance with the contractual terms and guide the business in its understanding of contractual commitments and if current account activities comply. You’ll participate in formal dispute resolution and negotiations and provide recommendations for resolution of dispute situations and share ways and approaches with the business to maintain compliance to commercial standards and policy. Constructing service and product descriptions for business offerings and contributing to the definition of trading terms with customers and suppliers to meet business needs, you will judge acceptability of overall risk level of deal and mitigating options and act as an approval authority per BRMP and CSLC process.

About You:
A self-managing, clear-thinking lawyer with an eye for detail and with practical experience in the fields of IT, commercial and contract law, you’re an effective and enthusiastic team worker who creates positive working relationships. With highly developed analytical skills and a passion for solving complex business problems, you have demonstrable evidence of strong influencing, engagement and execution skills, an excellent level of commercial acumen and a desire to be at the heart of discussions and strategy evolution. Complemented by commercial tertiary education qualifications, you’ll be able to translate the impact of negotiated terms on P&L, risk to delivery etc and have experience of working with deal structures, contract structures and schedules. With significant experience in a similar role, you have a good legal awareness and risk management skills, knowledge of the Trade Practices and other sales of goods legislation and governance knowledge on corporations law requirements. IACCM accreditation is desirable or to be obtained.
