About our Client:
Our client is a specialised and market leading team of build advocates who assist homebuyers in navigating the residential construction process from concept to completion, allowing for a seamless build experience and an optimal build outcome. Headquartered in Geelong, they provide their clients with expert support across all aspects of new home construction including land acquisition, builder selection, contract reviews, building inspections and complete project management allowing their clients to enjoy a stress free build. Due to exceptional growth, a new opportunity now exists for a seasoned Building Inspector to join the team on a full time basis.
About the Opportunity:
This role will require you to attend multiple residential sites for building inspections across any given day, where you’ll be required to identify and report on all construction stages in line with industry compliance. Supplying clear, detailed and accurate inspection/ assessment reports, you’ll liaise with a broad range of stakeholders (depending on the type of client engagement) from internal management, clients, and site supervisors in a friendly and professional manner. Providing outstanding support to clients to compliment engaged project management services, you’ll be working across numerous builds of varying stages and with a wide range of builders at any one time. A balanced role between in the office and on road, you’ll also be responsible for managing your own time and will frequently liaise with management on technical matters and progress reports. Depending on workload, you may also be required to assist with other project management services. A valid drivers license is essential for this role. Tools and work van provided.
With exceptional written and verbal communication skills, you’ll be registered as a Building Inspector Unlimited or Limited (VBA) including having requisite tertiary qualifications in accordance with the regulations. You will be friendly, light hearted and customer focussed, and have well developed expertise and understanding of the application of relevant building legislation, codes and standards. With broad expertise and experience in regard to building inspection, construction materials, methodologies, techniques, processes and practices for compliance with Building Permit documents and relevant legislation, you’re a people person, you are driven, compassionate, accountable and can think on your feet in a fast paced environment. Also able to juggle competing priorities, you’re self motivated and a confident and understanding person, capable of working as part of an efficient and productive team. You’ll also ideally have previous experience in a similar role, working with residential properties.
